Hello all, my name is Dennis and I am a 3D Environment Artist and Level Designer.
Where do I begin! It seems like a lifetime ago when I started making Mods. Half of that time was spent making Strider Mountain and it has been an amazing journey! For me it all started about four years ago making Jail Escape as a way to get my hands dirty, make mistakes, and learn. Then there was Hypercube: Source, which for me was just a small tribute to my addiction to the film franchise. Finally there is HoloReality which is a small mod I worked on with PlanetPhillip and released during the development of Strider Mountain.
Mapper turned Modeler! At the beginning of Strider Mountain’s development I was heavily into Level Design but I wanted to learn a lot more modeling and Strider Mountain was a perfect opportunity. Little did I know this initial three month project would evolve into a three year development and turn me into a full-fledged Modeler.
Time flies when you’re having fun! I am very happy that Strider Mountain did not turn out to be what we first planned as a small three level mod. During this long two year development I have gained amazing friendships with my fellow team members. I’ve learned so much from the technical wizard Peter ‘Baltic Forever’. I’ve had so many inspirational and collaborative chats with TB Biggs and got to experience how the best level designer I know, Leon ‘Spy’ Brinkmann, makes his maps!
